Attempted Coup in the United States: Tracking Investigations and Fallout

But within minutes and without a trace of self-awareness, Trump asked the crowd, “Who gets attacked more than me?”

I think there must be something physically wrong with the brain of a person who chooses to listen to a Trump speech.

this reminds me… on the media had a piece on identifying militia members via zello ( which i thought at first was the realty company, but instead is a walkie-talkie kind of irc )

they partnered with the guardian on the story, so it’s also in written form:

“You are executing citizen’s arrest,” said “1% Watchdog”, the creator of the channel… “We have probable cause: treason, acts of treason, election fraud, all kinds of felony crimes, no competent authority,”

Not to be confused with Zillow or Zelle.

I personally doubt that.

I think he is ultra-pissed that his “riling up the base” speech lead to negative consequences. I believe he wanted them to go over to the capital and by sheer force of numbers, screaming, and cheering, convince the republicans (and Pence) to do the “right thing”. The second it became a radioactive political footballI’m sure he was pissed, not because he cared what happened to the folks involved, but because of the fallout he personally endured.

I don’t think he’s perceptive enough to realize that his attempt to get people to go over and demand his presidency continue was actually an incitement to insurrection. It’s just him doing more of what he’s always done, and it always just ended up better for him in the end.

Sadly (and unsurprisingly), that will mean that IMHO he won’t see it as a failing, because in his mind he did nothing differently, so he’ll believe he clearly did nothing wrong.

Exactly that. The fact that he didn’t understand what the issue was suggests to me at no point did he feel he’d done anything different or was any more responsible.

The advertised 17Jan “Armed” March on state capitols and the nations capitol did not seem to materialize today. I read of a small protest group in Michigan, and not much other reporting on this.

Driving in and around Alexandria today there were cop cars in front of almost every motel / hotel near the Beltway. I assume they are keeping an eye out for returning MAGA guests.

Yes, these people might seem like deluded idiots, but what scares me is how sure they are that they’re in the right.
