A sentence I have heard numerous times is, “Trump will get away with it… he always does.”
I understand the sentiment, but look at what happens to everyone around him. Steve Bannon is in jail. Rudy Giuliani is in financial ruin after being ordered to pay the victims of his lies, and this week Tina Peters got 9 years in prison for facilitating the tampering with election machines in 2020.

Agreed, and I do remind myself of that increasingly often. But, I think the metaphor here should be borrowed from mafia terminology.
Maybe “When all the wiseguys keep falling, eventually the Don will fall too”?
