I’m picking up what you are throwing down!

Consequences slowly start to try to coalesce for Eastman:

FFS you don’t bury the evidence in your own backyard, dummy.

Besides it’s not like he was trying to get rid of a corpse. There must have been literally millions of trash cans between D.C. and New York where the guy could have discreetly ditched the thing without drawing attention to himself.

i haven’t read the story, but i assume he wanted to keep it as a memento. so he buried it just to hide it for a while.

Clearly they worship these things from 1/6 ala Bannon’s insurrection flag worship at a recent Virginia rally for gQp candidate Youngkin. The shield was destined for some sort of cult shrine.

Since his lawyer argued that he was carrying the rifle under hunting laws, referring to them as game animals should be legit too, right judge?

Did the defense prove the victims were actually looting? If not, how does that work?

In balance, do the prosecution get to call Rittenhouse a rabid shitweasel? I mean, if we’re just making things up…

The only valid way to complete the sentence in the headline is “… their lives”.

It’s the upside-backwards accountability (that is, the opposite of accountability) that the coup plotters and participants now capitalize upon: fame and/or notoriety, the oddly specific virtue-signalling and dog-whistling, the questionable motivations in the name of The Public Good (if they bother to name it at all) that drive these people to try for governmental office. To, I guess, tear down, make more dysfunctional, whatever government they can get access to from they choice spot as office holders.

To become mini-Trumps.
Mini-disrupters.
I suppose they all have to start somewhere. /s
Gosh and golly, I wonder what would happen were these people to be elected to “serve” the public. And who would be complicit. And who would “contribute” to their political campaign funds.

I simply can’t trust such ardent political candidate newbies for… well… what I hope are perfectly obvious reasons.

Not that the U.S. has much of a functional government (legislative, executive or judiciary) in most departments these days. Merrick Garland seems to be missing in action:

A warning that the January 6 coup is being memory-holed, compactly stated in ~2 minutes:

I hope that video was taken in a single-party recording consent state, because they should totally play it at Eastman’s treason trial.

I was about to cite the constitutional definition of treason, but damn if this is not a war for the survival of our country and he was providing tangible assistance to the enemy. Treason it is, then!

Ironically, the people who justified and funded the Jan6th insurrection qualify as aiding enemies “foreign and domestic” more than the actual enemies at (and inside) the gates!
