well, Iâm still not flying anywhere. seems like nearly every incident that makes the news is on a flight leaving or arriving at MIA.
no thanks. Iâm good where Iâm at.
Do the flights carrying weapons next.
In Busan, people are only allowed to swim during the summer months. Itâs not exactly a tropical climate, so you kind of have to dip your toes in and then slowly get used to the water temperature. (Which can be difficult, given how crowded that particular beach gets in summer.)
Okinawa is semi-tropical, so it can vary from day to day, even in summer.

Spent a few days in Dublin and Carlow. I hadnât been to Dublin since 2011. In past visits I avoided it like the plague because it always seemed so dirty. It feels like any other medium-large European city now, with plenty of diversity of people, pedestrianized areas, fun bars and plenty of things to see.
I didnât take a ton of pictures, but did visit the Teeling distillery.
Castle Durrow in Laois. A manor house built in 1716, now a hotel. I pointed out to my sister that when it was built our kind would have been lucky to come in the back entrance
Some graffiti
The Haâpenny bridge
And time for some libations.
Never touch the stuff: they are University of Chicago type UCD economists!
Iâm sure their whiskey is fine. I did go on the tour there once as itâs so local to me but Iâm no judge anyway.
I could have told you of some things to go to though. Last night I was at Les Amazons dâAfrique and Wednesday went to Marilyn Mazur (Kamasi Washington was Ill so picked up another great jazz gig that night) and there were several other shows I would have liked to go to but you canât go out all the time. Also some good theatre and dance and exhibitions and stuff. There is tonnes of stuff on and I donât know where people find out about them as social media feeds are the main advertising, the print free sheets arenât as ubiquitous and web search is useless (I get emails from the venues and promoters I follow).
