I don’t recall the reporter, but I think it was on Diane Rehm that I heard a commenter, speaking on the recent China/US climate deal, mention that China’s leaders are under increased scrutiny to do more to protect the environment. I wonder how quickly their shift in thinking has changed relative to the US–seems to me that they’ve woken up to the problem much faster than the American citizenry, especially considering their movement from backwater power to central player.
