Love Willis’ work but have to confess a preference for the meaty, massive stories full of weight and emotion: Doomsday Book, Blackout and All Clear, even Lincoln’s Dreams… there’s a great short story too, The Winds of Marble Arch. Oh, and the novella about HL Mencken, whatever that’s called, it’s hilarious.

Every time I see a new trend, I think of this book! Thanks for the plot summary, @doctorow, It’s been at least 20 years since I read the book.

I got this in a combo edition with Remake and Uncharted Territory. This was great, though Remake was my favorite of the three.

I find her stuff a bit hit-and-miss, but I really thought this one was fun.
