The Republicans haven’t always been obstructionist sonsabitches. I think that due to the basic philosophy that the Dems have had since FDR and before – that it’s the federal government that can take care of everything, and the states are subservient to the Fed, and not as important – they got blindsided by the Republicans as far as changing the map, gerrymandering-wise, and as a result, they’re pretty much fucked for the foreseeable future. And as far as I’m concerned, Nancy Pelosi is as much at fault as anyone.

I honestly don’t see any basis for a disagreement in this thread. As far as I can tell everyone in here who was able to vote in the United States election voted for Clinton. However just because you voted for someone doesn’t mean you have to like them, and just because the bleached asshole won doesn’t mean you that don’t get to criticize Clinton, who by the way has disappeared as far as I can tell. And I honestly don’t really like any of the Clintons for numerous reasons.
If Hillary had won I would have probably been out there protesting her too, especially once she got her hands on the military, but she didn’t. The only reason I haven’t been going after the dems as much lately is because in my opinion there is a much bigger fish to fry, the orange one that this country elected president. However, that doesn’t mean that I won’t be a shoutin and a hollerin at Ron Wyden next time he decides to support something like the TPP.

No, they have been difficult since Gingrich, but they weren’t obstructionist until 2008 and even moreso in 2010. Important, bipartisan things did get done, before they were absolute roadblocks.
I should hope that goes without saying; anybody who isn’t is a joke around these parts, which should also go without saying.
