Don’t forget the uterus. You can’t trust anyone who has one of those things.
Anyone who is Black who was born in the US has ancestors who were slave ‘owners’; that’s how slavery freakin’ worked - the female slaves were raped and any offspring were also kept as slaves.
They really might want to let that stupid ass argument go early, and move onto the next one…
Bingo. Also, a man impregnating women of color who they have power over (i.e. Thomas Jefferson, General Custer, Strom Thurmond, etc.) does not imply that man is not a raging bigot.
Let’s make sure we don’t end up like “Heisenberg.”
CIE1931. I’ve spent far too much time looking at that chart.
The most sobering phrase I’ve heard in a long time is rape-colored skin.
I take a lot of pride in my heritage and ancestral culture. As a rule, I think people should understand where they come from, and what that means.
That’s something we stole from the people when we stole them from Africa. We bred them like cattle and erased their history and bloodlines and cultural knowledge. Most black people in this country have no idea what their ancestry even is beyond a couple generations.
I know we did much, much worse, but for some reason, that’s the thing that always sticks with me- That we literally stole peoples’ heritage. I don’t think we recognize that as much as we should.
What the actual FUCK.
I’m biracial, I’ve lived all over the country and personally speaking, I’ve never heard that heinous shit before.
(And believe when I say I have heard a LOT of fucked up slang & colloquialisms for mixed folks in my day.)
Won’t be clicking that link.
Understatement.
As Malcolm said:
Just for clarification, It’s a NYT editorial by a biracial author-
It is an extraordinary truth of my life that I am biologically more than half white, and yet I have no white people in my genealogy in living memory. No. Voluntary. Whiteness. I am more than half white, and none of it was consensual. White Southern men — my ancestors — took what they wanted from women they did not love, over whom they had extraordinary power, and then failed to claim their children.
All the more reason not to click it.
Point taken, though.
Really excited for the campaign! Given their careers, they decided to take an alternative approach with going door to door. Here’s a preview:
No really, I’m so excited for Kamala to bring the pain! She’s gonna bury Trump & Pence!
These people are showing a shaking lack of consistency in trying to find reasons to bash Harris.
But really, what more do you expect from leftist Facebook / Twitter? A fair portion of them would freak out over any VP decision made by Biden.
Yes. Even assuming Trump in 2024 isn’t in jail, self-exiled to Russia to avoid going to jail, dead from a stroke / surfeit of hamberders, or collapsed into complete incoherence due to advancing senility.
Harris has issues, but I’m imagining some progressive candidate in the future who I really like, who might otherwise do worse due to racism and / or sexism (on top of holding my allegedly unfavorable political and economic views on capitalism), and I hope this is at least some sort of ice breaker / watershed. Maybe it will inspire somebody to do something great. Is good for the long game of human society, even if a bit milquetoast feeling at the moment.

I was referring to Baltimore born, Italian-American, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Who, for the folks here in “Redville” has always been considered a “San Francisco elite” and one of the poster children for everything that’s wrong with America. Sorry I wasn’t clearer on that.
Pelosi sucks so bad, no doubt
Not for me! I held my nose and voted Clinton, and I’ve been stewing daily for nearly four years over the reign of Mango Unchained.
I long for the day I can vote against him again.
There is absolutely NO angst or disappointment on my part as to the Dem candidates.
Trump and Trumpism is just THAT damn bad.
The racist, sexist bullshit took roughly 0 minutes to start. I do like the suggestion that this asshat be referred to as Fucker Carlson “or whatever” ad infinitum.
That is the single silver lining I see here. The effects of racism and misogynism in the US are greatly lessened if she is a VP in the general election.
Life is difficult. We don’t live in a Democracy. With Trump ready and willing to march troops into our neighborhoods, perhaps the best we can do is get rid of him, then carry on the momentum of resistance to militarized police power and corruption with the next administration.
Otherwise, instead of militarized police, I think we might end up with the military as police.
