Jesus. We’re concerned in the UK that our government isn’t doing more. You poor sods have got to rely on Bill and Melinda gates for expertise and resources.

Well, to be fair, Gates knows more about this stuff than most people, definitely including most politicians. Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation does a lot of work on controlling infectious diseases.

What accent does Bill Gates have? Very odd.

Yeah that’s kind of been his main deal since leaving Microsoft. Ann Coulter, not so much.

You could make a fair case that Ann Coulter is a disease— a virulent, racist, conspiracy-promoting virus that hijacks the neural machinery of narrow-minded schlubs and pushes them out into the world so they can infect others.

Mr. Smith virus

As a recognised public figure Bill Gates pursues his public health mission without disturbing personality politics - and provides a welcome counter to the drumpf coming out of Washington.

It’s a Pacific Northwest accent.

Is water still wet?

Bill Gates and Ann Coulter are very different people.

And only one of them is making any sense.

Coulter’s main schtick has been bellyaching about shit she hasn’t researched.

He’s absolutely right, but I’m a little confused why anyone would interview Bill gates about his expertise in epidemiology. Are we going to interview Obama about plate tectonics the next time there’s an earthquake?

I think it’s based on the work the Gates foundation has done on public health, which is not insignificant at all? Like it or not, the Gates foundation has become a major player in the promotion of public health issues globally and as the public face of the foundation, it’s not unsurprising for him to be talking on this issue. Presumable, Gates has actually listened to the people who work for the foundation doing this work and he is using his high profile in our society to promote that work at time when it’s very much necessary to do so.
