Isn’t it the very beginning of the 1978 version of Body Snatchers?
There’s probably lakes and rivers in Texarcana at least. Those look like freshwater fish.
@mallyboon I looked up where the blob thingy fell (Marrickville), and it’s less than 3 miles from the ocean. “Nowhere near” is pretty subjective I guess. 3 miles is a good long way for flying fish, but to be honest I don’t know the average range of a seafood rain. I guess the Cooks River is a tidal estuary fed by freshwater creeks, so that could feasibly get sea life even closer to Marrickville than ~3 miles.

There’s no need for name calling.
We won’t know for sure until we implant it and see how it develops. I’ve got a guy running a phase 4 trial on a new kind of dissolving surgical sponge who owes me a favor; we can probably work something out.
Best speculate rather than extract a DNA sample and know for sure.
Except that that’s not true. The west end of Sydney, Australia might not be right on the water’s edge, but it’s close enough for a rain of squid.
Sick squid. That’s all I’ve got.
Sick squid is usually a bit less than a poorly octopus.
Seems too deer for a sick squid but I’ll take your doe.
@QuickBrownFox - Just look at this.
I take it you never saw The Blob. Just look at what happened to The Old Man when he poked the cracked meteorite with a stick. Everything went south from there.
It is a drop bear.
the time-tested “poke it with a stick” method of scientific inquiry . . .
I mean, there’s something to be said for it, given that it did provide us with a very important bit of datum or two here…
