Body language expert analyzes Stormy Daniels' appearance on 60 Minutes

What’s his error rate? Why should I trust a “body language” expert any more than I should trust phrenology or bite-mark analysis?

“Las Vegas physician” is a bit of a stretch because Dr. G. Jack Brown* isn’t licensed to practice medicine in Nevada (I double checked, it’s easy). He’s more like a dude who lives in Las Vegas, and has a medical degree, but isn’t using it for medical purposes.

But that’s ok, because I don’t really think his medical degree is relevant to his body language expertise. I’m pretty sure the study of body language isn’t a medical discipline. And if it were, I doubt it would fall under ophthalmology (yeah, he’s an ophthalmologist, just like Bashar al-Assad and Rand Paul!)

Although it seems to me that he still tries to use his MD as a way of legitimizing his so-called expertise, which then allows him to book daytime talk show appearances and corporate speaking gigs (it doesn’t seem like he spends much time, or any, using his MD to treat people).

So how exactly do we know he’s a body language expert?

I can’t find any scholarly articles he’s published on body language (unless we count Network Marketing Magazine as a scholarly journal), and as far as I know there isn’t any organization that certifies people as experts in body language.

I guess we just have to take this “Las Vegas physician” at his word that he’s a bona fide expert.

His body language certainly indicates that he’s confident talking about body language. He comes off as a confident man. No, he comes off as something more than just a confident man: he embodies confidence. He is a confidence man!

I’m not saying all discussion of body language is bullshit, but a hefty portion of such discussion is certainly that. Especially if it’s spat out by a physician who talks more about his “C-level clients” than patients (his or anybody else’s).

I really wonder how well he’s stuck to his Hippocratic oath—but maybe that’s why he’s not licensed in the state that he lives and works? That’s pure conjecture though.

Well, I’ll just come right out and say it: I’m getting crooked vibes from this guy. He seems far more interested in making a buck than uncovering truth or alleviating suffering. But maybe I just expect too much from people.

Anyway, his analysis of Stormy Daniels’ interview could very well be accurate; it’s entirely possible to be correct while incompetent. My issue isn’t this particular analysis. My issue is that we should use a healthy amount of scrutiny when judging people’s claims to expertise. And I just don’t believe this guy’s claim holds up to scrutiny.

* I’m assuming that this “body language expert” Dr. Jack Brown, MD of Las Vegas, NV is the same person as the “body language expert” Dr. G. Jack Brown, MD of Las Vegas, NV; if they aren’t the same person, then they’re certainly sharing social media accounts.

I like digital tulips. I’ll use that.

I’m reserving judgment until I hear what my Chiropractor and Astrologer says.

So he’s good at looking at stuff, right? I must admit, I had problems with him as soon as I read Las Vegas physician (which is a bit unfair), and I’m not entirely surprised he’s unlicensed.

Now, back to business, which one did you say is the witch?

I was hoping for a video.

Roger that.

You’d think that, but
a) looking at the various shenanigans of former US Presidents
b) given that the porn industry has higher moral and ethical standards than international power politics (especially when it comes to fucking people over)
then no, not so strange.

I just did a confident head wiggle of tittering agreement.

I’m with you.

I believe what she says about the President, because it’s wholly consistent with his character, but this guy’s (self-?) proclaimed body-language expertise seems like modern-day phrenology, or any of a hundred fields of study that have everything they need to be a science, except rigor.

Rigor mortis is the easiest body language to interpret.

Why not just read her palms and be done with it?

Fuck trump for putting this woman’s life in the predicament she is in today. Fuck trump for putting all of our lives in the predicament we are in today.

She only acts when she’s having porn sex. :yum:

The etiology of this bilateral pupillary dilation - showing no reaction to bright light is most probably due to the result of systemic or topical medication/drugs.

Frankly, I believe her because of course Trump f•cks sexxxy ladies (and she has worked hard to present herself as one). But those pupils (and my own life experiences with people with such dialation) made me feel like she had to be on drugs.

Her being on drugs =/= her lying, but I do wonder what was up. Any thoughts??

It’s not a thing when we’re discussing security theatre. It is a thing when we’re discussing people recollecting their interactions with Trump.

All joking aside, yes body language experts are in the realm of pseudo science, and their take is meaningless compared to hard evidence. I have no reason to doubt what Stormy Daniels has to say about what happened (though I know I’m also inclined to want to believe it), but it would be so much better if she managed to offer up undeniable evidence. Though in this day an age I’m not sure what would be undeniable…

Uh, if they haven’t been cremated that’s pretty much all they do.

Many eye doctors dilate the pupils for a routine eye exam, or if there is a special need to look at the back of the eye.

Ahhh More psydo scientific claptrap… just another lie detector type fraud.
As to the ladies veracity…
If she’s lying doing it about litigious trump in general and the sitting president specifically seems pretty farfetched.
Also didn’t she say she kept her “blue dress” ?
