Bolton unveils extreme foreign policy changes in Central & South America days after autocrat Bolsonaro takes power in Brazil

I guess trump doesn’t want them horning in on his own causing human suffering.

That would make Trump the American president with the lowest body count by far on his record in recent history. Wouldn’t that be ironic.

Terror, immense human suffering and regional instability are the specialities of another country that comes to mind.

You forgot Mafia-friendly, or was that implicit?

A тройка? Really?

Sure is a lot of Russian influence in American politics all of a sudden.

You need three “enemies” to make a Troika of Tyranny or a triangle of terror.

The USA is traditionally very unforgiving of puppet states that dare to gain independence. See also Iran.

“Under President Trump, the United States is taking direct action against all three regimes to defend the rule of law, liberty, and basic human decency in our region.”

Peace of cake. All they have to do is to do the opposite of what they are doing at home.

Two years into a Presidency without a new war makes him substantially better than average.

Jesus Christ…

Look, I’m the first to be extremely against the dictatorships (they have no other name) in Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela. They are loathsome regimes that have caused a ton of suffering, yes. Governments that a decent US administration should be pressuring to mend their ways yes. (And if you ask “why Cuba?”, just look at the Cuban involvement in the Venezuelan disaster).

With that in front. FUCK YOU BOLTON AND FUCK YOU TRUMP. You are the kind of idiotic fascist pieces of shit that, by existing and by opening your mouths to say your garbage, still give a cover to the idiots that want to buy the bullshit coming from Habana, Caracas and Managua. And now that you have a new darling in Bolsonaro, EVERYTHING YOU DO AND SAY is just counterproductive to ANY actual solution for the plight of Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Cuba.

You dont have the moral standing needed to actually denounce them. Not because they arent pieces of shit - because you are, in the end, exactly the same, just on the opposite political direction and, so far, not able to have total control of the country to do your own shitshow to rival them.

The corruption part kinda covered that, but yeah, friendly to American-run, Italian crime syndicates (aka the right kind of white guys) who knew how to conduct business properly. Let’s not whitewash the crimes or atrocities of Castro and pals (and take that fucking Che shirt off), but American conservatives like their corruption to be friendly corruption, and I think that’s the biggest offense to a lot of them.

See, for example, the latest measure of the Trump administration against the Maduro regime - banning of illicit gold transactions with Venezuela. Because the chaotic mess that is happening in there, with everything from extremely enviromentaly unfriendly mining at locations controlled by gangs and guerrillas and then smuggled with the participation of the armed forces for the enrichment of a few well connected generals and politicians is something that needs addressing.

Good. Great. Only this loses all fucking credibility coming from an admin that doesnt give a rat ass about the environment, would have a panic if the river of Venezuelan migrants walking their way out of the disaster would turn north, is now trying to get in bed with a Brazilian admin that wants to raze the Amazon and would not bat an eye if they have to kill people for it, and well, just because it comes from Orange Shitgibbon and his spokesman, John “I want to bomb everything” Bolton.

Well, nobody’s going to deny the guy is an expert…

Oh there was time for him:

"The recent elections of like-minded leaders in key countries, including Ivan Duque in Colombia, and last weekend Jair Bolsonaro in Brazil, are positive signs for the future of the region, and demonstrate a growing regional commitment to free-market principles, and open, transparent, and accountable governance.”

Accountable death squads?

Trump, if you want migrant caravans, this is how you get migrant caravans.

Accountable to the autocrat. That’s the dream of Bolton and his ilk.

Now I’m wondering if at least some of this is much like Trump trying to say they’re giving a new tax cut, all the rhetoric about the caravan/border, including sending the troops, etc - it’s all about the mid-terms, that they GOP is terrified of losing?
