Cardinal says Pope "has a bigger agenda" than addressing Catholic Church's sex abuse crisis

Its already about as revolting as it can be.

Its all about pretending its the fault of the “Big Gay Cabal” rather than the SOP of the Church for centuries when facing scandal. A bunch of anti-Francis bigoted lazy dipshits are trying to use the latest scandal as an excuse to attack gays.

Bigger than approximately 2 zillion children raped and abused by your guys?

Well, huh.

One interesting angle in what is happening within the church right now is that there is a conservative/traditionalist faction in the Vatican that has been upset with many of Francis’ more progressive stances on subjects like homosexuals and divorce.

So now we may be witnessing the beginning of a rebellion in which conservatives are using Francis’ very real shortcomings on addressing child abuse as a pretext for reclaiming control of the church.

Someone ought to nail some theses on a cathedral door expounding the revolutionary manifesta!

Come on, guys, this makes sense. If you’re in daily contact with the supreme being, there just isn’t much time for nonsense like diddling little kids.

Not just sexual abuse.

The problem is not only “What are you going to do about the sexual abuse?” but “What are you going to do to the people who perpetrated and enabled it for decades?”.
The usual reply that the guilty parties will be “judged by God and dealt with internally” is no different than when law enforcement hands out paid desk suspensions to their repeat offenders. They always protect their own.
