*Where “thou” equals corporate or government bodies.
In the long run, China will have absolute control of everything which happens in Hong Kong. Its not a matter of if, but when.
But HK is a valuable economic entity for China, which has no doubt prevented more heavy handed chinese actions.
If you are in HK and don’t want to be under 100% Chinese control then I recommend you get out right now. Find somewhere else to do business.
