TAIL FLOOF!
(Just waiting for the inevitable anal gland spray – I got one on the arm the other day from my cat Gremlin – ooooh, stinky)
You have reminded me that we haven’t taken out the 4-way tunnel for the cats in a while. Working from home today, BRB…
Update: Logan cried when he saw the folded up tunnel, hopped into one leg before I even had the whole thing opened out. He’s been playing with it most of the day. The other cats play when I’m not in the room, because they’re “too cool” for “kitten” toys.
Oh wow, that brings back memories… turns out hamsters and gerbils love to chew plastic. who knew?
My nesting partner and I just spent some time looking on PetCo’s website to see if we can find something similar. I believe the phrase is “… and then hilarity ensues.”
Of course I’m not going to count the number of boxes we have scattered throughout the house, some of them quite large, that we cannot throw away! I will sometimes go to move one only to see a pair (or more pairs) of golden eyes peering out at me.
So, are they confined into the spaces connected by tunnels? This is a terribly small space for a cat. And their movements at the beginning of the video hints me they are not playful but stressed and possibly aggressive to each other.
I think this installation is better for them if the entry is connected to the house, so they can use it to chill outdoors, but are not confined to it. Extra points if connected both ends so a cat can’t block the passage of the other.
I’ll give you a hint, this one was meant for toddlers! We got it instead of one “designed” for cats because Logan is too big for those.
Oh, we couldn’t look without ordering one! The boys are big, but not exceptionally so, and tend to like close quarters anyway. Agatha will probably not go near it if she thinks her brothers can see her, so we’ll see how the new tunnel works out.
My hamster just packed every single tube full with food. He saved the running for his ball.
Anyone tried large hamster balls for cats?
It would take Puddin’ Cat about 10 seconds to tear a hole through that. We’ve had to replace every window screen in the house with tougher, animal-proof screen or else he will bust out. Our boy Puddin’ is a proud gelding. No balls but he doesn’t know it. They drive him nuts. Poor guy little guy.
