Also worth noting that Assistant Director Howard W Koch (not the Howard Koch who worked on Casablanca) directed a lot of 1950s TV series like Maverick, Cheyenne, and The Untouchables. He executive-produced The Manchurian Candidate and eventually became Paramount’s head of production.

As for Director of Photography John Alton–one of the giants of American cinematography. Quite a nice little film, though the narration is a bit ponderous. The “Featured Review” of the film at IMDB was written by the son of one of the officers involved in Walker’s real-life capture. It has some interesting tidbits about both the case and the movie.

The way he’s stroking that scope makes me think he wants to take it home for the night. He Walked by Night (1948) [Film Noir] [Thriller] - YouTube
