It’s crazy to me that we now segregate attendance at political events based on ‘sympathetic to the ideology of the gathering’ and ‘non-sympathetic to the ideology of the gathering’. Isn’t the whole point of protesting in a public space to be seen and counted? How is it okay that dissent is gradually being moved further and further away from the event, and de facto marginalized?
Why do that when they can claim victimhood for being harassed by the scary black protesters? /s
Please, please, dear #BLM members: Use your cellphone camera wisely. Download a call recording app for the calls. DO FILM OR RECORD EVERYTHING. Don’t let these govt. agents set foot in your house without your smartphone duly recording every second of it. Get names and affiliation whenever possible. Then do put it all up on Youtube. If intimidation is attempted, problem solved…
I should also mention, and not that it should be news to anyone, that these intimidation tactics were also done by the feds from time immemorial to every group opposed to the establishment. The black civil rights groups, environmentalists, anti-vietnam war groups, etc, etc.
I had considered protesting when the Occupy movement was ongoing years ago but i didn’t relish the idea of potentially getting an FBI file or any of that nonsense.
Institutionalized power does whatever it’s allowed to do to further entrench and empower itself.
When I got word of the latest round of visits, I felt the need to remind my family of how to talk to the cops. I’ve been in and out of town for the past few weeks and I know that they’ve visited the family of at least on other person when they were out of town. My mother responded that she would offer them coffee and cake, the tell them to fuck themselves and she had nothing to say.
This is starting to sound like a police-state Disneyland:

Remember that concessions are available to kettled protesters in the form of tear gas canisters, pepper spray, and zipties. Ask your nearest officer for any or all of these options at your convenience. Please remember to also request these loudly as it is difficult to hear you through the standard issue riot helmet, i.e. “freedom armor™.”
