Clever bird adapts to pecking order

Blue Jays roll up to bird feeders screaming and spreading their wings, so no, not good neighbors.

However, among the other types of jay do watch out for the different species of scrub jays (western, florida), which are wild but will take food from your hand. The first one I saw was in the San Francisco Botanical park, and I clucked to it twice, held up some granola, and it just popped down and took it right from my hand.

Sad tho that the FL scrub jays are so horribly endangered, hope people learn to give a crap in time to help these great birds.
