Too bad, planet of the bass was a fun bit of nonsense that smartly joked about the vapid and meaningless lyrics of inspirational dance tracks in the 90s. The joke here is that a woman isn’t considered attractive.

I admit to only having a passing familiarity with bossa nova (beyond Getz/Gilberto etc.) but this seems like it isn’t so much making fun of the genre but more just being a bossa-nova-adjacent song with offensive lyrics?
