Molly Mahoney: Are you dying?
Mr. Edward Magorium: Light bulbs die, my sweet. I will depart.
I got to hang out with him at a couple of conventions. He was always a pleasure, always positive, even when he wasn’t feeling well. Excelsior, Stan!
He will have a last cameo.
And I would not be surprised if even more than one.
He had a good run.
It would feel like losing another grandfather, if I’d ever had a grandfather who could tell really cool stories.
Today is a sad day. Another part of my childhood died.
You will be deeply missed.
Excelsior, Stan.
EDIT: This has been an awful year, my dad passed away this January, one day before my birthday. And now this happens and I’m here having a breakdown or something. I could really usea hug.
Not unexpected (especially at his age, and when it was known he was in poor health), but no less sad.
Buddy, you earned a good long rest. See you in the funny papers…
Godspeed.
(Needs more funky crescent planets.)
Thanks for all the fun, Stan!
Hell, make a whole movie about the Epic Army of Cloned Stan Lees! Kind of like the Agent Smiths in the second Matrix movie.
When was that published, do you know?
Wow. God we need fighters like this now, who are not afraid to speak truth forcefully.
