Companies Can Now Sue Striking Workers For Damages

Yep, it’s as bad as it sounds. NPR has the bright side, in that striking is still technically legal, but the ruling holds that you can be held liable for damages to the company if walking off the job costs them money.

To be fair, this was a bit of an edge case, in that the timing wasted a ton of product and put a couple million dollars worth of equipment at risk- but now that the precedent is set, it’s guaranteed that companies will sue for any kind of financial damage a strike does.
