This made me think more of the Dr. Demento radio show’s offering: The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati - YouTube
Tack on three more zeros to that number, and then we can talk. 2000 bucks to infest your personal living space is not a great return.
It might be better to find a family ALREADY dealing with an infestation, that doesn’t have the resources to tackle the issue. Might mean the world to them to be rid of their problem, plus $2,000!
Roaches would be fine - they’re relatively harmless. Would not do it because i’m much more afraid of whatever extermination technique they might use.
This will not significantly change the population of roaches in my house. And I could find plenty of things to do with an extra 2 grand.
Anyway, long story short, I look forward to welcoming my Blattidae overlords.
But it costs $5,000 to get rid of them.
You should sign up anyway. Regardless of the number, at the end of two months - problem solved.
If you’ve ever had a roach problem, you’d never sign up. $2k is nowhere near enough.
Growing up in N. Philadelphia near a factory, the roaches came to our houses. Having roaches crawl on your legs and into your ears at night was a terrifying experience. Finding roaches in your lunch bag at school did not make you popular.
And as adults living in a condo next to slovenly neighbors, we inherited a roach problem. You have to throw everything in your kitchen out and constantly scrub and clean and throw out trash daily. They came through the walls, nested in our dishwasher circuitry, and fried our dishwasher.
Okay, 100,000 cockroaches. You drive a hard bargain.
My previous apartment had a really severe infestation of german roaches, they were. everywhere. I didn’t sleep much for the first month or two i was there because i’d randomly get up in the middle of the night 1-3 times to spray and kill roaches. By the time my lease was up we still had roach problems but it was “manageable”. My current place has a minor roach issue but i do have to keep the kitchen pretty clean and spray every 4-7 days.
I’m in the middle of a move to a new place and i can only hope i won’t have to deal with roaches
They should aim their adverts at students. Students will do anything for money, and they’re already used to being experimented on.
Oh, and they generally live in filth, so a few roaches won’t change anything.
I would have to see what their strategies for eliminating the roaches are. 100 roaches in 30 days become thousands untreated, but if I thought this new method would work, I’d be in. I used to own a pest control company so this proposition is interesting.
$2000. That’s about half the price some people might shell out to finally get rid of all he cockroaches in their house.
