Both lovely, but there’s definitely something more charming and suggestive the coder’s and digital artist’s effort in the 16-colour version. If given a choice I’d go with that one.

I heard that if you played it on hard mode (i.e without the aid of the staff, and relying on a trained ear) you got a bonus ending. Not being a musician, I never got to see that.

I can still hear the soundtrack in my head. Who knew that a cheap MIDI rendition of Tchaikovsky could be so thrilling to an 11 year old boy…
