Computer simulation of Surfside tower collapse

It’s an interesting simulation. I’m wondering how feasible it would be to use such simulations to educate rescue teams on the best way to proceed in a similar situation in the future.

In the tragedy that happened here, was there ever any hope of finding survivors after, say, the first day? The first week? As a human being, I’m glad that there was an exhaustive effort to find survivors, but that had to be psychologically draining after a few days and no success. In the end, was that worth it? Or did we put the search and rescue teams, and the families of the victims, through basically psychological torture for any chance of success?
