Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 1)

I wish I could live in the same of world of these conspiracy theorists. It seems to be so exciting. A lot of threats, deragend technologies used to menace the society, perils from outer space, angry old gods about to drop their anger upon the humanity.

And the people who believe in these absurd theories are the only ones who have glimpsed the truth, and if they were really powerful, they could stop the evil plans of the demonic phalanges that keep people asleep.

Maybe. There’s this vicious, petulant fury that underlies it all, and I can’t help but think that it comes from somehow knowing, deep down, perhaps subconsciously, that they are not just full of shit, but also exactly the evil they want to project onto someone else, and that they are actually miserable.

Not all of them, of course. Their sociopathic leaders are smug and happy. But the rank and file…

As long as this becomes our Unimatrix Zero, I’d be cool with that.

Potential “laminate this wallet card” vibe here:

when the fifth edition of the diagnostic manual was published in 2013 (the DSM-5), it included a “range from 0% to 6.2% in community samples” for NPD5 and “twelve-month prevalence rates” of ASPD “are between 0.2% and 3.3%.”6 In both cases, the DSM-5 acknowledged the large NIH study, but considered it as simply part of a range of possibilities. While this is good cautious science reporting, we are left wondering whether these are significant mental health problems or significantly increasing mental health problems.

Maybe some tips here on how to spot them in the wild–I mean, it’s obvious if they refuse to wear facemasks in crowds, etc., but…

I’ve been speculating for years that the number of sociopaths is MUCH higher than 1 out of every hundred.

That same politifact article states

And so on. Historically, when psychaitry is called on to solve political problems, the end results are ugly.

Well, we’ve got Generation Lead, but we’ve also certainly seen the creation of a new culture in the United States (and elsewhere) of glorifying sociopathy, so it’s likely previously closeted sociopaths are now out and proud.

In time they’ll be demanding their own rights movement. Oh, wait, they already are.

And if you are keeping score, in a completely unshocking development, Covid deaths are now trending upward again as well. When Il Douche said we were “turning the corner” I am pretty sure this was not what he meant.

Kids are starving because their parents can’t (and shouldn’t) work because of Coronavirus, and the Tories won’t fund free meals for them. It’s not going down well.

Is that a euphemism?

They’ve probably done a fly-by, took one look at us as a species and decided “no, we are not assimilating them”.

All we’d do is contaminate their hive mind with crazy ideas like chemtrails and anti-vax

You’d think, right?

It’s actually called the South Lake Union Streetcar, but people absolutely call it the SLUT because it’s funny to say, “hey bro let’s ride the SLUT lol”.

That’s never actually been its name and anything saying it was is just perpetuating an urban legend. Sorry to be Mr Fun Destroyer here.
