I appreciate the effort, and offer my support for it. Problem is, I have seen way too many parents trying to “logic” with 2 year olds and failing miserably, and most 2 year olds are quite rational when compared to some of these folks. If you guys can figure out how to bring back some degree of sanity, I will nominate you for sainthood!

We’ve already discussed the “science”, or lack thereof, up thread. Now the CDC has decided that this is “following the science”.

Same folks who consistently speak out against and vote against single-payer healthcare.

I get what you’re saying - I’ve encountered the same thing in other areas of healthcare where people put off lifesaving therapy due to the financial uncertainty and inconsistency. But that’s not these folks. As mentioned above, they have been programmed by Faux News to think this way.

Considering the piss poor state of most public school HVAC systems, it probably does not make a statistical difference after a few moments. These recommendations are all built on a assumption of good air exchange, which is just not realistic in most schools, especially those in lower income areas.

I frequently find myself trying to work out what sort of indoor air circulation pattern would help more than harm in this context, and I just keep coming back to the inflatable Santa suit. Yet another reason to be glad I’m not in the HVAC business.

as i’ve said before, my high school had a $300,000 refit of the hvac over last summer to improve filtration and air exchange patterns. this was for a 50 year old building with a decent basic hvac system for a building designed for 2000 students and staff.

we had to cancel three extracurricular programs and lost two paraprofessional positions to attrition to be able to do that and my district has money.

Some surprising news out of AZ:

They don’t say it, but I wonder if the reservations aren’t the primary drivers of these numbers.
