Continuing coronavirus happenings (Part 3)

For years disability activists have been trying to get exposure on this. Bleach has been force fed to disabled people for years on this godawful lie that goes something like “bad gut bacteria causes autism so bleach cures it.” Nothing is true about that statement. It’s just an excuse to poison autistic people for fun and profit. If anything comes out of this horrible pandemic mess I hope that the bleach-drinkers get held responsible for the decades of harm they’ve been causing. I won’t hold my breath, but I’ll hold out hope.

Here in Michigan yesterday there was a college football game with 109,000 people in attendance. From the photos I saw masks were non existent. I wonder what that does to our state’s numbers next week.

But I wonder why researchers don’t take the opportunity to really study a crowd of that size. Attempt to track as many attendees as possible to see how many get covid within the next couple weeks.

It wasn’t the only huge college game either. I think Alabama had a crowd of 80,000.

FTR, the conventions in Germany where assholes promote this “Miracle Mineral Solution” are also frequented by “Germanic medicine” asshats, but also by homoeopaths and naturopaths. The same group of people who dismiss everything the much-maligned pharmaceutical industry would sell them as “chemistry”.

The irony is lost on them.

For my own edification I looked up “chloride vs chlorite” and found this nearly helpful page that almost gets around to explaining the chemistry. Then I got to the last paragraph and now I need a drink.

Research is hard.

That’s a big reason why I leave it to experts.

Me too. Ingesting strong oxidizing agents is just plain dumb. Oxidizing agents can fuck up all kinds of delicate molecules that a living cell relies on, so the potential for harm is non-trivial. Furthermore, molecular oxygen is really the only oxidizing agent aerobic organisms need. The machinery that cells have to harness O2 to chew up all kinds of things is really impressive. So what exactly is this magical other oxidant supposed to do anyway?

All of that is true, but mo.ecular oxygen is still very dangerous stuff. There are loads of mechanisms to control the effects, and it is still responsible for a lot of the damage we experience in aging.

Agreed 100%, O2 is nothing to fuck with. I think that aerobic respiration just might be the original Faustian bargain… enjoy all these bonus ATP but now you need to scavenge for radicals for the rest of your life you lousy SOD!

SuperOxide Dismutase, one of many enzymes protecting us from the hazards of existing in an aerobic environment…

For anyone interested in the details, there’s an excellent unpacking of what happened here:

So really, this is all the AFA’s fault, right? They brought players along, broke COVID protocols, and instructed them to lie about it.

Well, yes. But also no. The Brazilian FA is also somewhat culpable here too, because they’ve been treating COVID restrictions as secondary when it benefits them, as in this summer’s relocated Copa America which was inexplicably moved due to COVID from Argentina and Colombia to Brazil, which had worse COVID numbers.
