‘It’s not all about you’

Doctors say there are multiple reasons people aren’t yet vaccinated. There are the hesitant, who still have questions and sometimes fall prey to misinformation, and the opposed, who often harbor anti-government or anti-science sentiments.

“We’ve had a little success when we’ve spoken to them on a one-to-one basis. We can give them the information that they need to make their decision,” said Dr. Gerald Maloney, chief medical officer for hospital services at Geisinger health network, which runs nine hospitals in Pennsylvania.

Some still can’t easily access vaccine, either because it’s not available nearby or because they can’t get time off work.

And while the U.S. government paid for all vaccines and vaccinations so no one should be charged, others remain fearful they will be on the financial hook for a shot, Maloney said.

Once again…

But wait! It was sailing out of FL! Didn’t DeStupidass forbid requiring testing or verification? Just sail anyway! Sigh, anyone getting on one of these floating petri dishes needs a full psych eval.

Guarantee this gets generalized into “vaccines don’t work, here’s proof” in roughly nanoseconds.

Word is that the US anti-vax contingent is to blame.

But what’s particularly shocking about the outbreak at the U.S. embassy is that its staff have had access to vaccines for over six months now, meaning the spike there is largely because of staff who refused to get vaccinated or aren’t yet fully vaccinated.

Typical red meat trumper assholes on duty out there. And many State Dept persons along those same wave lengths.

Unvaccinated embassy staff? They need to be recalled and replaced by people competent to do their job.

Some might but most of what I’ve read online is gleeful mockery of china as if this is karmic justice.

There’s no justice in disease.

Plenty of racism in how we deal with it though.

They added the letter lambda to Covid’s list of variants. Soon the authorities will run out of the letters of the Greek alphabet and they will have to adopt Chinese characters.

Well I don’t know if that narrative is taking off for vaccines in general but Sinovac in particular is definitely taking a hit to its reputation. I just checked Worldometer and, over the last 7 days, Seychelles (widely touted as the “world’s most vaccinated country” a couple months ago) has the world’s highest number of new cases on a per-capita basis by a factor of two over the next highest country, Uruguay. (Uruguay also mostly uses Sinovac)
