I think that many people expected some version of this, but boosters for almost everyone (not just the old or immunocompromised) after just 8 months is really something.

In fact, I’ve done trip via train since I wrote that. Five trains in total (two outbound, and three in), and SNCF doesn’t appear to be making any attempt to enforce the new rules.

:face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

ETA: SNCF is saying it’s checking randomly, but we weren’t asked, and we didn’t see or hear any other passenger being asked either.

I’ve been to several cafĂ©s (outdoora, service indoors was available and being used by others) and a hairdresser and was neither asked to provide a test, my vaccination documents, nor even leave my contact details.

One exception. Getting an iced coffee to go for someone at an outdoors only cafe, I had to actually show the young lady behind the counter that I indeed checked in using the official Corona Warn-App via QR code, or the (terrible) Luca App, or left my contact details with her colleague at the entrance.

I congratulated her on that. Well done.

The thing I want to know is what they’re going to advise people like me who didn’t get the mrna shot (J&J) to do in 8 months if anything at all.

It’s depressing to see how much influence on this Fox has in Canada.

I have written about this before, but this is a good summation of the impact this all is having on a fragile nursing profession, that was in trouble even BC. (before covid)

We’re number one! We’re number one!

Interesting how in every other case, the numbers might increase substantially in another country, but then they go back down again as the country responds. We just kept on going. Even against a country like India with significantly higher population, and more infrastructure challenges.
