Unfortunately compassion and empathy take more cognitive effort than dehumanizing, especially if dehumanizing is what you are trained to do. More social workers! Fewer cops!
This flooded local news last week. We already saw the video with no sound where it’s patently obvious this pig separated her shoulder as a punishment. It made my mother, a kind-hearted soul–who has finally woken up to understand my feelings on police abuse-- so angry she was shaking. If she sees this, God help her.
Maybe the cops did this because “she’s just a Karen?”
/s Except that the pervasive use of a term to pigeonhole and demean all women who were named such at birth really bugs me.
