Bolsonaro “sat in silence” while Silveira laid out the plot, the senator told reporters.

Has anyone reported where the meeting occurred?

According to the G1, a local news outlet, the meeting took place at the Granja do Torto, an official residence of the president of Brazil.

Senator Do Val said Mr. Bolsonaro sent an official velhice along with a driver tô take Him to the Torto. This alleged seditious meeting has no official record.

Today Mr. Daniel Silveira, a former congressman who Senator Do Val said was part of this plot, was arrested.

Now Senator Do Val will be investigated. The minister of the supreme court authorized the inquiry that will determine if the Senator committed crimes of false testimony, slanderous denunciation and coercion.

People here in Brazil are very confused. Until now, no one understood what Senator Do Val had in mind when he started this conspiracy talk. The craziest conspiracy theories circulating at the moment propose that Senator Do Val felt left out by Bolsonarists and wanted revenge on Mr. Bolsonaro, others claim that it was part of a crazy plan to discredit Justice Alexandre de Moraes, because if he knew about the coup meeting and did nothing, He should be arrested too. Some jokers believe that the Senator was out of his mind when he started this whole mess and now that he has displeased everyone in the country, he doesn’t know how to fix the situation anymore.

Even though Mr. Bolsonaro was supposed sitting silent in the back of the room while the deranged conspirators laid out their far-fetched plans, He committed a crime.

He allegedly called the meeting with the seditious gang, sent an official car with a driver exclusively for the presidency of the republic to pick up a senator and did not chase away the terrorists when they exposed their criminal plans.

If what the Senator of Val said is true and if the police investigation could obtain robust evidence of this crime, the life of Mr. Bolsonaro can get very complicated. He lost the visa He used to enter US, and in order to remain in the country, He has applied for a tourist visa, which can take months to be approved. In the meantime He may be expelled from the country. In an interview with a Brazilian newspaper this week, he declared that he is now, under Italian law, a citizen of that country. But apparently Italian politicians don’t want to see even a portrait of Mr. Bolsonaro over there.

Marcos do Val doesn’t sound especially trustworthy in this, so I think I can see where Moraes was coming from when he wasn’t willing to make that statement official, before.

Still, that bit about the Institutional Security Office has got to have people nervous.

I see that Marcos do Val owns a “private police training company” in the United States. No doubt that means more opportunities to exchange “worst practices”.

Some people even declared that there is a parallel intelligence agency, created to serve personal interests and not aiming at the best for the country. These Very same sources say that this structure is still active these days.

There is a comic book character aimed to children called “Cebolinha” in Brazil. He is such a mischievous boy who thinks He is a genius. He is always creating great schemes, elaborated plots and plans to take over the neighbourhood. Unfortunately He isn´t very bright as He thinks and His plans are usally foiled by the other characters.

Some people are saying that Mr. Do Val is a kind of real life version of “Cebolinha”.

The writing of the text obtained by Folha was led by Senator Bob Menendez, president of the House’s Foreign Relations Committee.

Just a small correction, he would technically be the chairman of the committee.
