In New Jersey there is one of these where I-78 crosses the Watchung Reservation, a county nature preserve. There are also two where a roadway crossing shares a bridge with a wildlife crossing. They were built in the 1970s partly in response to people complaining about the routing of the highway. They can be seen in Google maps at https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6938166,-74.3750012,1617m/data=!3m1!1e3

oh yeah, i’m sure that’s the case. but i wonder how much maintenance they would really need? to attract the animals, shouldn’t they be as untamed and natural looking as possible? depending on the area, you probably don’t need to even water them, and you certainly wouldn’t want to mow or prune things.

What’s the animal at the 14 second mark? A porcupine?
