Not to worry. It’s just the Turkish version of the Banshees of Inisherin.
Judging by the gift, I’d say the crow was after some KFC drumsticks. Original recipe, please.
Turkey?
If you’d asked where to find terrifying crows that would absolutely murder you given half the chance I would have said Vancouver where the corvids are frankly enormous and fearless.
Excellent horror title.
The article refers to the “index and thumb from a human foot”, so it probably means toes. I’m guessing this is a translation error, as many (most?) languages don’t use a separate word for the fingers of the feet.
I have heard Frenches and Italians make this mistake despite speaking good English, because it doesn’t come up much, and why would it even occur to you that something has a special name when it occurs in a certain place?
Or lost Misfits song.
Huh. I distinctly remembered using “un orteil” for “a toe” and “un doigt” for “a finger” in French. But an online dictionary also tells me “un doigt de pied” (a finger of the foot) is acceptable for “a toe”, and I have no recollection of ever using that term. TIL
I see what you did there. Great story!
Bummer on the close but not-quite-missed pun opportunity here. TIL that Corvids are of the order Passeriformes, not Galliformes (or Anseriformes).
(edited for grammar)
Very pedantic, but that’s nothing to crow about.
Mid journey does not want to generate an image of a crow or a cow bringing you severed fingers or toes
