It may have worked in this case but most of the time the Cruz Missile is a dud, either blowing up before launch or sputtering out after a very short flight.

I have spent a lot of time working with my biases and learning not to judge people instinctively on their appearance.
With Ted Cruz, I cannot. Something about his face is utterly repugnant.
