He really was a lovely man…
I never got into An Officer And A Gentleman but I did enjoy most of his other stuff.
I love the original Iron Eagle, better than Top Gun.
There’s a couple Rockford Files episodes I enjoy seeing him on.
There’s also a Little House on The Prarie episode from 1975 where he has a lead role that’s really good.
Neither of these want to OneBox, for some reason. Ross Anderson, famous in computer security circles, has died at the age of 67. Schneier shares a number of personal recollections of his friendship with Anderson.

Also, not a celebrity but the last USS Arizona survivor:
That’s very sad news… I’ve heard a little of the Robert Glasper Experiment, and they are really fucking amazing.
RIP
RIP, Count Floyd.
John Sinclair was from Michigan and was responsible for the annual hash bash in Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan. It started in the early 70s as a response to his conviction and 10 year sentence for selling 2 joints to an undercover cop.
He’s also managed the MC5. He had a long and interesting life.
Weirdly, Hash Bash still exists, in spite of the fact that recreational weed has been legal here for several years. It’s this Saturday, if anyone is interested. S. State Street near E. Liberty is the normal epicenter.
I was there once as a kid but because weed was still very much illegal I was afraid to bring or smoke any pot onsite.
City cops wouldn’t have bothered you, possibly write you a $5 possession ticket. Just needed to stay off the Diag, State cops arrested people for possession.
