Two great roles in the headline.

His Ripley is so creepily attractive (probably just him being himself to some extent) and le SamouraĂŻ I watched as a palate cleanser after watching Casino.

A British tech magnate and several other people were missing after a luxury superyacht sank near the Sicily’s main city of Palermo during a violent storm, Italian officials and sources familiar with the matter told CNBC. At least one person was killed in the incident.

Mike Lynch, who was regularly described in U.K. media as “Britain’s Bill Gates,” was not among those rescued, said the sources, who preferred not to be named due to the sensitivity of the situation. They added that Angela Bacares, Lynch’s wife, had been plucked from the waters off the Italian island.

Lynch, was among six people who were unaccounted for, Salvo Cocina of Sicily’s civil protection agency, was quoted by the Associated Press as saying. “They were in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he added. Cocina also confirmed that Bacares had survived.

Sorry to see this morning that another pioneering feminist has died. I grew up with her voice, deep and often close to a belly laugh, though she had been rarely on the media for quite some time (in large part for having cost a lot of money in a court case when she matter of factly mentioned that Mary Harney - a hard right TĂĄnaiste (deputy prime minister) was alcoholic).
The Irish Times obit is bracingly free of redemption and happy endings, in particular focusing on her sense of betrayal by Nuala O’Faolain her great love who became internationally successful.

She was a major figure in my youth and a huge part of any progress that was made.

@catsidhe Nell did that too. Though it was pints they wouldn’t serve rather than women entirely.

She and thirty of her friends ordered a brandy apiece, were served, and a single pint of atoyt which was refused, so they drank their brandy and didn’t pay as he refused to serve them.

Nobody you’ve heard of, but worthy of being known anyway.
