Hooper was the first. Same director, Hal Needham, and also starred Burt Reynolds.

The part at the end of the fight where Jackie goes back for more is great as it makes me believe they just had a bunch of extra footage of him kicking ass and worked out a loose reason to use it.

Have you seen the The Fast and Furious movies? They know they are silly, that’s part of their charm. They may not be doing outright comedy like Cannonball Run, but how do you not laugh at this shit?
