'Delay the Election,' tweets President Donald Trump

I think there is a bit of a difference between Trump making money off of his presidency, and trying to stay in office by delaying the election.

No one is rioting over Trump over his emoluments transgressions. No one is even properly challenging it.

I don’t think most of the nation would shrug off delaying the election.

I hope I am wrong in this, but my suspicion is that even trying to do so would result in true riots and street fighting, with the 25% or so who seem to believe he is the second coming backing his play, and attacking the most vocal of us who are horrified by it. That would set tne grounds for a “national emergency.” This was the scenario they accused Obama of setting up. Projection being what it is with these asshats, I am very concerned this is where e are headed.

“Chin up”; many of his actual base will be dead or too sick by November to fight.

Sadly, the huge downside is how many innocent people they are likely to take with them.

Oh… I am so pissed off, but I am going to survive this shit…

There’s always enough Federal thugs to go round, until the moment there’s none.

I don’t think that a lot of our national institutions will survive this. I forget if I shared this before, but a person on another site that I frequent had this to say about a month back:

You let the country go as a matter of your consideration and you build your own community of people who support each other regardless of the collapse of national epistemes. I’m going to start pounding this gavel a lot around here because I believe a lot of you are still trying to save conservatives from themselves: let it go. They won their demands to commit to the death cult and take out as many as they can as they go. Now, solely and only responsibility you have is protecting your own from being taken out with them. Focus on their health and welfare, and learn to grieve those you can’t save. Everything outside that world of your own, is no longer your responsibility.

Find out how you support and protect yourself, extend that support and protection to everyone you want to save, and gear down for a long ride of survival. We may be able to activate and rebuild a nation after this is over, but it’s not worth trying to save the nation right now. Waste of your emotional labor and very wasted effort. Only your friends, family, communities, local economies, and their infrastructure matter. The rest is out of your hands. Let it go.

Going to therapy over the last 10 months or so for anxiety disorders compounded with ADHD and being on the spectrum, one thing that’s been hammered into my mind is Locus Of Control. Zero in on what you can do to protect yourself and those you want to protect, and other things you don’t want to see come to harm. Cut the assholes and lost causes out of your life.

I’m not a doomsday prepper who thinks that all we’ll have are some sort of collection of local enclaves; I believe that as national institutions collapse, the governments of states, counties, and cities will fill in what gaps they can. Just put whatever resources you can, be it time, money, or both, into making sure that you and those you care about will be okay, and don’t get your hopes up that the U.S. will have functioning national institutions in the near future.

Don’t forget that fascist is a serious term we can’t bandy about just because someone is sending unmarked feds to arrest protectors and publicly toying with changing the election rules.

Yeah, it sucks when even the best, most hopeful scenarios are hellscapes. The worst do not bear thinking about.

I’m not so sure there will be riots if he screws with the election. The US had an actual coup in 2000 and everyone just went on as if it hadn’t happened.

actually, i’m pretty glad about this. everybody figured he’d start talking about it, and now he has, so at least it’s out in the open.

more importantly, i was getting worried he was going to delay 2021.

donald trump we can handle (*). 2020 needs to end. the sooner the better.

(*) my favorite option is let him keep the white house, let him think he won, and just go on with biden as the actual president. he’s golfing so much he’ll hardly notice. give him a fake news channel piped in. the occasional rally. and we’re good to go. truman show the hell out him

If you ever wondered what you would have done if you’d been alive in Germany in 1933, you’re doing it now.

trump had multiple secret conversations with his ‘loan officer’, Putin, in recent days. He wouldn’t tell the media what they were all about, (other than to say they weren’t about the bounties Russia had put on American troops). But then trump announced that American troops would be leaving Germany (a major Russian goal), so one may wonder if delaying a presidential election is another Putin promoted scheme. Perhaps to allow the social media hacking to catch up after a viral decline (if any) -sigh-

If he was really desperate to get his name and covid out of the news, he should declassify a ton of stuff involving UFOs and space aliens. “Aliens exist!” would end up being the headline for every single newspaper on the planet.

No I’m not; in 1933 Germany, I’d already be imprisoned due to my color, gender and outspoken politics.

Shit’s bad, but it isn’t WW3/Holocaust bad… yet.

Let’s make sure it doesn’t get to that point…

I highly doubt the people in charge of that info (if it exists) would trust President Fucknuts with it. He’s so bad at secrets that he’d already have given it out.

According to himself, trump is ahead in ALL the polls. Why would he want to delay an election that he is so certain to win?

He just wants to delay the election until the economy recovers.

Also his master BS is distracting from Obama, Bush and Clinton speaking at John Lewis’s funeral today.

Which probably bothers him more than the economy going to shit.

A great follow up tweet would answer questions like, “what are you doing now to secure voting systems?”
