To clarify it’s the Pizza Margherita that was supposedly invented 125 years ago. According to the Vera Pizza Napoletana association of Naples, Italy pizza’s history goes back more than 250 years.
Not that it matters. I figure pizza is like the sandwich: people were putting stuff between slices of bread long before an aristocrat with a gambling problem gave it a name. And it looks like the party was fun. That’s what matters.
