Also, doesn’t being de-monetised on YouTube effectively do nothing? Because as I understand it, supporters are donating through patreon etc, probably his website and as pointed out above, he’s still being paid by spotify?

In this universe, not being allowed to make money is the worst possible punishment there is!
While still leaving all of his bullshit content untouched and viewable, so as sanctions go, pretty useless in stopping him spreading lies.
It’s a little more than the least they could do, but only just.
