Anyone else?
Should @anon61221983 open her own online university here on the BBS?
Can you make it four? Actually, Iâll just have John Candyâs (too soon?)
Can I just get an overpriced shirt from the bookstore?
Can I run the sports department? All it takes is to tell people to Go That Way or Do Something with that Ball!, right?
Why would we have a sports department? Shouldnât you run the music school, where hurdy gurdy and ukuleles are the primary instruments to be learned?
I think youâll need to charge them an awful lot of money and spend a lot of your time âwatching film,â right?
Donât you want to wait until youâre sure youâve been accepted before buying collegiate-branded products?
(Why yes, someone in my household might have bought too many items at the bookstore of a school she did not get into when she was visiting and getting the tour, why do you ask?)
Why canât I just support the school? Itâs just getting off its feet and getting the word out there is something I feel very strongly about. Condolences on the bumper sticker that was likely applied to your car when you werenât looking.
Arenât regulars pretty much already enrolled, whether they like it or not? Plus shouldnât we include everyone in the question thread, as itâs a great springboard for the socratic method or some shit?
Could you imagine me being in charge of anything? But wouldnât I still say yes if I were paid in cheese?
Arenât IâŚ
What are the school colours?
Doesnât that work for me? Donât I like purple and black together?
Whatâs our school mascot? Could it be a luck dragon?
@anon61221983 arenât those my old university colours? Isnât that lucky? Wonât it save me buying a new one?
Spoilers? In the HYST thread? What are you thinking, @OtherMichael?
Well, guess I donât need to see Star Wars now, eh?
As you seem to know so much about it, could you explain the socratic method?
I think the best way to explain it is by asking what do you think itâs about?
ZOMG LOL!.. please stop!!!.. My head, why canât I feel my the top of my head!?
Donât you start with readings and then you begin a discussion, with a seminar leader, who asks the readers questions and the discussion comes from that? So, isnât it not just students being lectured at by some guy who claims to have all the answers, but learning through discussion and debate from all involved? Doesnât it take the intellect of the students seriously, and assume they can actively engage with the readings, and not just assume they are empty vessels waiting to be filled by someone else?
But didnât @SteampunkBanana give you just the right answer?
Why do you think thatâs the best way?
