Considering the theme of the original attraction was inclusion (of all types of children around the world) I think this is excellent. Much better and fitting than like adding fictional characters like Pinocchio and Ariel in there.
I don’t disagree, but the original version of the ride always had dolls of mermaids and flying carpet riders, just not ones that were linked to a specific Disney movie.
Just another example of the Woke takeover of Disney. /s
