It’s the same shit he’s been doing all along. Someone throws a boulder at him (lawsuit), he immediately throws an ineffectual rock-shaped object back at them (half-assed lawsuit).
Rinse, repeat, see headlines explode! “Me, ME, MEEEE!”

The suits want the court to order the media companies to let Trump back on their platforms. They also want the court to declare that Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, a piece of legislation that stops tech companies from being held liable for what users post on their platforms, is unconstitutional.
Do these dumbasses not realize these are two directly contradictory things? If they overturn Section 230, Trump and his vocal followers will never be on a social media platform again. Somebody on the legal team, at least, has to know this, which means the whole thing is just an overt grift - or series of grifts, his legal team taking money fighting for something Trump doesn’t actually want, Trump using this to raise money, conservatives using this as a culture war issue…
Trump is just straight-up running commercials telling people to send him money. He’s not even bothering to come up with some lie as to what noble cause he’ll supposedly spend the money on (but won’t).
I think they’ve finally figured that out, though, given his now very-public history. Everyone working for him is either an incompetent ideologue who doesn’t care about the money, are doing it purely for the PR opportunities, or are making sure there’s a fund from which they’re getting paid.
Given the enormous expenses of fighting big battles against multiple social media companies, and the impossibility of winning, it doesn’t seem like a good move for any sane legal team. There’s no way they’re going to make their money back, unless they don’t spend any fighting this - i.e. it’s a very small, short disaster of a trial. Which seems like bad PR.
Fuck that clown.
And money. Always money.
Grift - Since he is no longer Prez, there is significantly less control and oversight on how he actually spends whatever money he raises for his defense. He can just enrich himself with the proceeds.
Considering that this is at least colorable as a FRCP Rule 11 violation, they’re going to be the ones slammed by punitive sanctions, which are by Rule 11 supposed to be enough to make sure that they don’t profit from the violation and hurt enough to make sure they never do it again.
Granted, Rule 11 is very rarely imposed and judges tend to go pretty easy when it is, but the prospect is at least supposed to be deterrent.
I, too, would like to know who TF this article is about?!
Well, I think we can rule out sane attorneys certainly, even the more experienced crazy ones are asking for something besides IOU’s. Or are too busy fighting the Dominion lawsuit. I imagine there’s some recent Liberty University graduates who think that Jesus has called on them to help Trump rescue the children. They who might work for Trump for free, if the Spirit compels them.
Dick Morris proposed that CRT may make kids want to “kill their father and marry their mother.”
Does he think CRT involves teaching Greek Mythology?
Big 4 CEOs laugh in actual billionaire. With their buildings of lawyers who are just waiting for this kind of thing. Meanwhile, most of Trump’s legal team keeps getting disbarred.
I’m not saying I love the tech CEOs. BUT I am going to enjoy them crushing him for a while.
He thinks that the oedipal complex is good. He does not like CRT by way of contrast.
And the nice part: He still doesn’t understand why everyone is laughing.
I hope they do cause him some pain, but considering that a substantial portion of Facebook’s core users are older, Trump loving republicans I wouldn’t count on them doing more than the minimum necessary to defend themselves in court. Humiliating Trump or otherwise stirring up more controversy than absolutely necessary could cause them to lose business, and that’s all they care about. (Just as keeping Trump’s account active following the January 6 insurrection would have led to a mass exodus of the non-Trump-loving users)
Accordingly, I look forward to seeing the entire 1619 Project posted on Gettr, along with discussions on improving impoverished urban neighborhoods through meaningful dialog and community action.
I assume his lawyers have all insisted on being paid up-front?
Can’t wait to see what sort of clown shoes outfit he’ll get to represent him now that Sidney Powell and Rudy are going to be spending a lot of time defending themselves in Dominion’s case.
Yeah, you’ve described the various… “lawyers” Trump had working for him in most of the election cases. But their resources aren’t up to something this big - if they take this on for free (i.e. no support staff), it would be a very short and disastrous trial. Which I am totally here for.
That was my presumption as well.
I was going to say the same thing, that I am flabbergasted that there are still lawyers dumb enough to work for the notorious deadbeat. And no, the exposure will not help your reputation, guys. Ask all the artists who fell for the “work for exposure” scam.
I think republicans just like hearing the words “lack of standing”. Either that, or they should do some research and find out what standing is and why they need it to file a winning lawsuit.
