Reminder that the reasoning behind his claim is just the old racist trope that scary brown people are coming across the border to rape and murder all the nice white ladies!!

In one sense, I suppose he could be telling something close to the truth in this case. If a woman sees someone wearing a MAGA hat, that’s likely a pretty clear indication that they wouldn’t be safe with that person. Providing a visible sign of potential danger would make women a bit safer and people wouldn’t be wearing the MAGA cult’s signs without Donald Trump.

Donald Trump tells his biggest whopper yet: “I’m the one who gives women safety concerns

I’ve added the missing word.

I think it is worth acknowledging that there are many women who adhere to the patriarchal model of feeling they need a “big strong man” to provide safety — even if that big strong man is not in fact particularly safe to be around in the first place. This is even more pronounced when there is a sense of threat

So it’s not at all coincidental that the primary right wing media message is that the watcher/listener is under constant dire threat — nor that far more women have historically voted for Trump than some of us here on the left can believe.

And you do know what complexion of threat Trump and his MAGA minions picture.

After spending the past couple of months waffling about whether or not he’ll vote yes or no for this bill, and just yesterday complaining about how restrictive it was, he’ll vote “no” on it not because he doesn’t like the bill, but mostly to pwn the libs.

“I think six weeks, you need more time than six weeks. I’ve disagreed with that right from the early primaries when I heard about it, I disagreed with it,” the former president said. “At the same time, the Democrats are radical because the nine months is just a ridiculous situation.”

“All of that stuff is unacceptable, so I will be voting no for that reason,” he added.

Once again showing that he cares about women’s safety as much as Republicans care about women’s sports.

I bet E. Jean Caroll begs to differ (along with several others that he has “silenced” over the years.)

Cannot recall which comedian said it but, to slightly paraphrase the bit I heard years ago…

“I give women security. That’s what I always hear when I’m around them. ‘Security! Security!’”

Roy Wood Jr. has a great bit about that very thing only he uses the confederate flag instead of a red hat.

Yep, this is it, 100% - and he’s said it quite explicitly at other times. Which, given that undocumented immigrants commit crimes at a far, far lower rate than the American average, the only thing he’s actually trying to make anyone “safe” from is having to see (brown) immigrants. I’m astounded, on a daily basis, that almost half of voters want to vote for the guy, when only the most ignorant racists feel reassured by Trump’s idea of “safety.”

I’ve never heard that euphemism for general disease before….
