Saw a thought provoking interview today, on Fox of all places. Interview was with a Viet Nam vet, a general I think, and the job of the hosts was clearly to get out the message that Trump is not going to start a war, perish to thought. This guy had apparently not gotten the message. I recreate this from memory, so if anyone wants to look it up, more power to you. In something close to quoting:
“In WWII, American troops died by the hundreds of thousands (416,800, actually), in Viet Nam it was by the tens of thousands (58,220), in more recent conflicts it has been much less (Afghanistan 2,372 Iraq 4,424). I fear the U.S. public is starting to believe that you can have war where our young men and women do not die. That is wrong and frightening.”
At least some truth is slipping into Fox viewers, maybe. Not sure it will matter, but maybe.
