Interestingly, they seem to be using AC in two different frequencies (100 and 130Hz) and both are not standard mains frequency.

It would be nice if the person wielding the katana drew it properly, with the right hand. Drawing with the left puts the menuki (ornament under the wrap on the handle, 1 on each side in different positions) under the palm of the hand instead of the proper position under the fingers for a better grip and control.

I think the person has the blade upside down.

Unless you’re in armor and wear the sword lower.

Okay, so if I understand my science correctly (not my strong point), wouldn’t your opponent have to be more conductive than yourself to draw off the electricity?

and on the wrong side… with the hands the wrong way round…

The sword is always worn on the left hip and the right hand is the front one in the grip (regardless of handedness).

The part of me that practices a Japanese Sword Martial Art was impressed that they got basically everything backwards…
