I was reading the recent article about Musk’s input on the self-driving features of the Tesla, and I kept thinking, “This guy is an f’ing idiot.” Just blatantly stupid pronouncements and arguments that directly led to people’s deaths. If Musk is a genius, it’s entirely in one area - taking credit for the smart decisions other people around him make.

That’s a global issue and the opposite is also kind of true. Women want to have the children that they can afford to have, no less, no more.
Poor women want to tie their tubes after having the number of kids they wanted, but a lot can’t afford the procedure or even OTC birth control pills and men still pressure women from all classes to have unprotected sex then blame women for pregnancy and leave them to raise their kids alone.
On the other hand, how can you raise children with unpaid maternity leave, insufficient childcare, expensive school and crap health insurance? Is it any surprise that younger people that are trying to afford food or to pay rent and don’t even dream of owning a house because they are so damn expensive nowadays simply cannot afford putting more people in this world knowing that they can’t give those children the best?
And guys get to be deadbeat assholes and disappear as soon as they get someone pregnant, but religious groups rather control women’s bodies than men’s dicks.
Fuck Elon Musk, who abandoned 5 kids and plays Facebook daddy with the sixth and has resources enough to actually make effective changes but is just a hoarder sitting on said resources with a big ego like all billionaires.

Really? Women want to have no less than the number of children they can afford? Some millionaires and billionaires do have large families but very few try to give birth to or adopt as many kids as their fortunes would be able to support.
And yes, women having fewer kids than they want due to financial pressures is not a uniquely American phenomenon but there are some countries like France that seem to have figured out how to provide the support to allow women to have the number of kids that they decide is right for them.

Musk has enough money to solve the medical issues. Let him personally have a few babies and see if his opinion changes.
