Our library in a small town in West Virginia had The Complete Book of Nonsense in the children’s section; I stumbled upon it after accidentally finding a collection of his limericks with the original illustrations. It was apparently quite an old copy and I adored it.
Relatively speaking, a pretty subversive book: nonsense is a perfectly reasonable thing to like and care about and enjoy. A good lesson for a kid to learn.

Manypeeplia Upsidownia has been my favorite since I first saw it as a kid. Marvelous stuff!
