I haven’t had the “popcorn shrimp” (hardy har har), but I HAVE tried lots of the other shrimp flavored snacks found at the little Asian groceries.
I love them! It’s a weird savory/shrimpy/sweetness outside of flavors usually found in the US. Totally unique, a little weird, and really tasty. They also have crab and octopus flavors, too, to go along with things like “banana” and “onion flavored” rings. Talking about it is going to make me go to H Mart later…

When I lived in Japan, the first tortilla chips to make it into local convenience stores were pollack roe and mayonnaise flavored Doritos.
