I’m thinking this is the same thing as moving your hips or leg to get the golf ball into the hole, or bowling ball into the pins.

I’m guessing this is common to many sports. I’ve seen football (soccer) fans lurch their shoulders forward as they watch an attacker speeding up towards goal and I myself make involuntary kicking movements when my team have a scoring opportunity (and you have never seen anyone less capable of participating in a high speed game in your life!)
